#08 - STRUCTURE EDUCATION BOROUGH - V2.0
The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once. – Albert Einstein
STATE OF MIND
In our ongoing effort to structure IkoCiti like a City-like platform, we turned our attention towards Education. You don’t have to emphasize the importance of education (skills training); it is a consensus that you can fight poverty successfully without education. People talking about education or training often forget one crucial component - the preparation before you start learning. Anyone of us who starts to learn in a hyper state of stress, hunger, sleep deprivation, or whatever knows that the results (the performance) will suffer. A negative state of mind will lead to failure. You can bet your bottom dollar on that. So to be more successful, we need to pay a lot of attention to how our Maveriqs start learning.
Are they mentally and physically ready to climb an unknown ladder?
THE EDUCATION BOROUGH
06.00.00 - The Education Borough transforms barrio residents into capable changemakers through hands-on training. We equip people with practical skills to analyze barrio needs and develop effective solutions. Our learn-by-doing approach builds both foundational and specialized capabilities, enabling participants to become peer-to-peer teachers who recruit and train the rookies. We integrate platform training to ensure all IkoCiti teams collaborate seamlessly. By creating a self-sustaining cycle where changemakers teach new changemakers, we're building a growing pool of skilled problem-solvers. In IkoCiti, smarter people create lasting progress - the key to fighting GenPoverty.
THE CURRICULUM DISTRICT
06.01.00 - Curriculum Development & Content Creation: Creates practical learning modules addressing immediate barrio needs and long-term capability building. Designs, develops, and continuously improves structured learning modules, practical exercises, assessment tools, and training materials. Ensures content is contextually relevant and optimized for the target audience with varied educational backgrounds while adjusting the modules based on the data collected from the performance analysis center. Develops materials for both in-person and digital delivery, incorporating feedback loops for continuous improvement.
THE FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS DISTRICT
06.02.00 - Foundational Skills Development. We teach the basic core competencies for better organizing your personal lives. We assess incoming skill levels and create personalized learning/action paths, ensuring all participants can work with the tools available to better deal with personal, family, and work issues. The goal is to give them a broader foundation before they start to be active on the platform. The objective is to de-stress their lives as much as possible, allowing them to better focus on helping themselves by helping others.
THE SPECIALIZED SKILLS DISTRICT
06.03.00 - Specialized Skills Development: This center trains Mavericks the IkoCiti's platform tools, technologies and philosophy. Ensures all changemakers can effectively utilize digital resources, data systems, and collaboration tools. Furthermore, it delves into the basics of finance, project management, and community organizing in general. Our approach is based on learn-by-doing for people to run small projects while with more Smartz and experience start designing bigger projects. Furthermore, we train project-specific skills. Construction and basic infrastructure repair can be chosen for Maveriqs aiming for these types of projects, while social entrepreneurship addresses a different perspective. Maveriqs teams choose for themselves.
THE BARRIO SKILLS DISTRICT
06.04.00 - Rebuilding Barrio Skills. Teaches all platform groups the IkoCiti Method from the MM360 plan to the PI Production Process. The objective is to get all groups (Mavericks) on the same page. Our method focuses on internal/external collaboration skills, negotiation tactics, stakeholder engagement, activism, communication skills, basic trickle-up economics, self-perpetuating dynamics, and group psychology. The key objective is to get (inexperienced) people to work together to move the project forward without crashing or delays due to the inability to be productive at the collective level.
THE P2P TEACHING DISTRICT
06.05.00 - Peer-to-Peer Training & Mentorship: Prepares experienced changemakers to become effective peer educators. Provides teaching methodologies, coaching techniques, and conflict resolution skills. Creates support systems, including mentoring, teaching resources, and performance feedback. Ensures facilitators can adapt training to diverse learning styles and community contexts. This center creates the multiplier effect by fostering a self-sustaining learning ecosystem. Besides teaching , our P2P Teachers are also available for mentorship programs, creating a longer-term relationship between experienced and new changemakers (teams).
THE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS DISTRICT
